Day 22 is\u00a0Four Roses Small Batch, a “Straight Bourbon Whiskey” that’s 45% alcohol.<\/p>\n

This is the third appearance of a Four Roses bourbon, so I have something to base my expectations on. The basic Four Roses is in the middle of the pack, and the Single Barrel is in the top third.<\/p>\n

There’s not a lot in the nose for this one. It smells, well, clean, with some hints of apple. In the mouth, I get corn and some bitterness, with a bitter aftertaste. There’s little to no burn going down.<\/p>\n

This is a reasonable bourbon, but not particularly distinctive or remarkable. I’m not sure what’s up with the “small batch” as this one feels like a well-executed standard. I guess I wanted something to stand out, and this one really doesn’t. It seems mass-produced and ordinary. Sorry, Four Roses fans.<\/p>\n
